What does this light mean?
Hi everyone! This is my first time on this board. I have a '96 Grand Am SE and there is this light that comes on and I have no idea what it means ( i don't have the user manual). Its a square with and arrow pointing down and it will come on at just random times. I just replaced the alternator a couple months ago. Should I be worried? Hopefully someone can help me. Thanks!

If it's a manual trans. maybe it's a shift light telling you to shift? Not sure though.

I forgot to look in my manual, will when I get a chance. The shift light spells it out in english I believe. I 'think' the light would imply low fluid level, either coolant or maybe even windshield washer level.

Re: What does this light mean?
It's not the shift indicator, that is a orange arrow pointing up and it tells you when to shuft to get the max. fuel economy. It most likely is a low fluid indicator of some sort.

I checked the manual, it is the low coolant light. Manual just states IF it stays on to pull over and check level. I would check to make sure yours is ok, and would assume it could be a sensor not working correctly if ok
