Very nice. Is this the Studio 27 or the Racing 43 transkit? And what was it like to work with.

It was the Studio 27 Transkit and I used some Photo etched Eduard Pre coloured seatbelts.
The Transkit was excellent a real pleasure to work with, minimal clean up of the metal and resin parts and an almost perfect fit.The decals were excellent also.

Brilliant build, really clean!
I'd love to build one of these in time, never got round to it though (delta soaking up enough time already).
A very very good build of one of the best looking rally cars ever!

Yes,I still have the night lights but the photoetch spring clips are missing because I used them on another Celica model.I've got all the other bits though.I have circled the missing bits in red on the photo below.Let me know if you are still interested in the lights. You could probably make the clips yourself.
Steve.

Very nice, one of the best looking rally cars IMHO and you have certainly done it proud, beautiful model, soooo clean..

I have the R43 tkit for this, and the S27 ST165 tkit, but is there anywhere to get the S27 ST205 tkit online still?

Beautiful work, lovely (and sadly infamous) car and great job building it.
Did you do any work in the engine bay?

Re: 1/24th Toyota Celica St205 Castrol pics

Very Nice !!
I've just bought this TK before Christmas on Ebay...
I don't know if I will build the lights parts, they seem not accurate to me but maybe I'm wrong...
those seat belts are very realistic, they just look like the real ones !
where did you find this stuff ?
Did you use the full resin wheel of the TK or other ones ?
I plan to use Corolla WRC wheels because they are the same. I think that rubber tyres will give better effect, but on your model I couldn't swear you chose one or the other way as it is so clean build...

The resin chassis that comes with the transkit includes the basic engine structures and I added some bits from the Tamiya donor kit,but I never really went to town on the engine as I never had any good reference photos of the real engine. If you wanted to there is the potential to detail the engine, the transkit would provide a good starting point.

I think I got the Eduard seat belts set from www.hannants.co.uk I have used them on a couple of builds since and they always look very realistic. They are pre coloured (including the Sabelt logos) and all you do is assemble them and add them to your seats. The range includes all the popular straps for most rally and race cars.I did use the full resin wheels from the transkit and remember that they were a real pain to mask out to spray the tyres.I ended up using a compass cutter and made circular masks from thin masking tape to create a neat edge.

Superbly finished model.

I know this is nitpicking but the suspension seems to be a little high for a tarmac spec car. Is that because it is unchanged from the road car base model?

Still looks great though.
