what size wire to hook up amp with?
I ordered 2 12" alpine type r's w/ a jbl 600.1. I wanna know which size wire should i use to hook the amp up with. 8 gauge or 4 gauge? also which gauge speaker wires. i was thinking maybe a 12 gauge or even a 10 gauge, but i think that overkill.
Thanks.

I'd go with the smaller AWG (bigger wire) because you never know when you might want to upgrade...

depending on the length. if it was about 15 feet, i would say go 4 gauge. 12 gauge is an overkill for speaker wires. a 16 gauge is more like it. but if you're willing to try it, go ahead. i'm using 10 gauge for my subs even though they are receiving 205 watts. what can i say..i got them free:finger:

bigger is better 4 gauge wire for the amps atleast and 12 gauge seems reasonable for subs, not speakers.
