Accord problem

my friend has a 1995 accord lx. He says lately it has been rough at idle. When he punches it from low RPMs it feels very sluggish, almost like it is upshifting. He changed the plugs and added fuel injector cleaner but it didn't do anything. What's going on?

has he had a compression check on it? is there any gas exhaust smell in the radiator resivour tank? it sort of sounds like a blown head gasket.

He hasn't had the compression checked, but he is now leaking oil, although the car seems to be running better. I'll have to check on the smell.

well for some reason it is now fixed. it must have been a dirty injector, because it's working fine now that he's put the fuel injector cleaner in. i think he should replace his fuel filter too, just to be safe.

I actually have a question like that too. When my 88 accord automatic is sitting at a stop sign or a red light it always rumbles and vibrates. The honda mechanics have checked it and said we shouldn't worry about it because its just normal for older hondas. Anyone have another idea?

id be safe changing the filter too. bceause some of the build-up from the injector might be all over the filter.
i dont know if thats normal for older hondas. try some injector cleaner also and see if that helps.:bandit:
