2000 Accord Rear Window Malfunction

Forgive me, its been three years since my last login.

I sold my 94 Accord and got a 2000 Accord instead. With Honda's end-to-life testing being 8-9 years many things on the 2000 are starting to go, including the right rear power window.

It will not go up and needs to be coaxed by hand. When you push the button down the inside door cover 'pinches' towards the glass and the window descends but at a very slow rate (as if there is a frictional force that was not there before.) The following thread leads me to believe it may be the motor\regulator:

Do you agree? Are the quotes in the thread fairly accurate? Can a rookie do this job in 4 hours? If so, how do you take off the door panel? Thanks for your time and help.

Re: 2000 Accord Rear Window Malfunction

After awhile the rubber in the window channel dries up and causes the window to bind. Spraying some silcone spray into the channels when the window is down can sometimes fix the problem.
