[Reference Pictures Needed] Valentino Rossi 206

Hi, I am planning on making a Valentino Rossi Peugeot 206 and i was wondering if anyone has reference pictures for it. Would appreciate the help if I could get my hands on the car interior, body and engine pics if possible.

Drivers were C.Cassina and V.Rossi in that Peugeot 206. Hope it helped.

Re: [Reference Pictures Needed] Valentino Rossi 206

Rossi drove a Peugeot 206 on the 2002 RAC Rally of Britain. He hit a ditch and retired on the second stage. Don't know of any image galleries that are still around. As I recall the biggest problem building the car was that Grifone used 7-spoke 15" wheels that are impossible to find in 1/24th.

Hi GabrieLN

I made this conversion too (see http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=303093 for a couple of pictures) using the Studio27 decals, the Tamiya 2001 and 2002 206 kits, and Eduard p/e seatbelts (nice).

The only picture I could find is in the Rallycourse 2001/02 annual in a Michelin feature. There is also a 1/43 diecast by Ixo Models which is nice for decal placement.

The bodyshell for this particular car should be the Tamiya '01 version, I used the '02 for the suspension set-up. I couldn't find any suitable wheels, as RallyRaider said they are impossible to find in 1/24th, but the wheels in the Tamiya Repsol Escort Cosworth or the Hasegawa Subaru (1995 RAC Version) are fairly close I think?

The Repsol Escort wheels are the closest I can think of too. I have a set with tires I would trade for any of the 206 wheels/tire combos except the 02 Winner version if your interested GanrielN?

Good luck with that Livery, it looks interesting and challenging.

i agree with RallyRaider regarding the 7-spoke wheels...you may want replace it with 6 or 8 spokes wheels which are available in some of the 1/24 model kits...or scratchbuild the 7-spoke wheels...

Re: [Reference Pictures Needed] Valentino Rossi 206

Hasegawa has some 8-spoke wheels in their Corolla WRCs that might work (Don't know the brand or whatever, if that's important).

Besides the paint, the rest of the car should be a standard 206 WRC (IE silver interior and undercarriage). After that race it was used in the RoC, and then I believe it was beat to hell in the Middle Eastern series.

Marc Havican did a build-up in Scale Auto Magazine about 6 or 8 months ago that was very good (Besides using Rally GB decals on a car meant for a phantom Monte Carlo run).

These wheels are still available and would work perfect for this car.

Yeah, those are copies of the Hasegawa Speedlines. Probably the closest you'll find, but of course with an extra spoke. Next problem is that Renaissance only provide 4 wheels in the set, so no spare.
