Question Suiciding rear doors

Basically I wanna suicide my rear doors... Living in Canada and in such a small town, not many shops around here can meet up to my expectations. I've been searching for info and maybe even pictures on a 'HOW TO' suicide rear doors... I own a 95 Civic EX 4dr.

Anyone got Ideas? websites? back issues of magazines with such help?

well basically you need to relocate the door catches, hinges, locks, and bump stops, etc to the other side of the door, then you would need to re-weld or attach these parts to the oppisite side of the door, and close the holes that were left on the OEM side.

well I knew that... but the angle of the hinge would sit differently at the back (since it's a four door) If I did just that it would open out and down a bit I dont want that...

Maybe this would be best suited for the HOW TO FORUM....

I'm going to do that to my car too. But I haven't found anything on it. My cousin owns a body shop and said that he could probably figure it out, I don't wanna do something that's "probably" though. I haven't found anything on this anywhere. Have you found anything on it?

A buddy of mine is really into the whole minitruckin' thing.... He's got at least 3 magazines on 'how to Suicide doors' but thats on Trucks, and it's not rear doors.

I'll keep looking, hopefully I'll prevail and If I do so I'll post it here.

Anyway, Wasabi is going to be nutz this year, you better be ready! By the way, when am I doing your bumper?

well... crap... It's gonna be a bit more expensive than I thought... I was talking to a body shop and i'm looking at $1500... a door, not to mention It'll be in the shop for a month! gah!

Owell... Basically they need to create a whole new hinge for the thing (since its on the rear doors) cause they can only put one hinge on it. and it hard.... very hard... So,looks like I wont be getting it done until mid summer...

(the above are Canadian Prices)

Choice Customs

The shop that my buddy Sketch is talking about is called Choice Customs in Brampton Ontario Canada. You can get them at www.choicecustoms.com and all the info is on their site. They have done the doors before, but they are also one of the only shops in Canada able to do it properly, which is why it is 1500 per door...

So there you go boys and girls....
