Exhuast Gases...
Hey whats up guys? Well I had a question about the amt of exhuast produced by a B18...its certainly more than a stock D16 right? is it alot more? Also if I drop the b18 into my 99 EK will the stock exhuast system be able to handle it? Or should I replace it right away? Thanks

it should put out more gases, but either way when you get a new engine. i think you should get a new nice exhaust to match up with it.

sure the stock exhaust can handle it but your gonna loose hp and torque and put some stress on things in the process. just for reference take a look at the new sport compact car when they swap a b16 in an eg and make a comparison of the stock dx exhaust system vs. the apexi ws i believe. there is deffinatly wsted horsepower to be found from upgrading the stock exhaust when swapping a motor out. as for calculating exhaust flow i forget off the top of my head what the formula is and i dont have the bible laying around anywhere but as soon as i find it i'll post it. till then you may wanna ask fritz.
