I think that would actually be good to have the shifter there. Definitely something to get used to. And it's unique.

It's kinda messed up if u ask me but then again we'll all probably get use to it and all the cars of the future will be like that .

are you sure it's gonna b a 2.0? last i heard they didnt want to use tha rsx engine because they didnt want to let a civic macth a acura, thus they decided to use a 1.6 vteci engine, maybe they changed their minds

Yeah man, I think the "data on the Si" is inaccurate. I'm pretty sure the new Si's using that K series 2.0 liter engine (detuned to make 160 horsepower like the base RSX). And I actually like the shifter. It is ergonomically correct, and the placement of the shifter closer to the wheel means the driver has less time with his hands distracted from steering. It's actually a great move for the aspect of racing. And it does open up some usable floor space, believe it or not.

When is this due out or is it just a concept? It is a bit on the FUGLY side....

It’s due next year as a 2003 model. I believe it’s scheduled for a spring release.
