Honduh VS. Sentra SpecV (RANT.... with other cars)

Okay.... Hey Geo btw.

Anywho..... i went test driving cars this weekend with my dad.

RSX..... Nice, no pickup worth crap.
RSX-S .... Nice, no torque worth monkeys, handles like a dream though.
WRX......This car is orgasmic for everything except the rear end looks.
Celica GTS - Car is POS. Visibility is bad. Handling is bad. The redline is 8.... When i took it around the block with the dealer and punched it... VVL (Vtec) hit at 6..... then 7 came around... i hit the rev limiter. at SEVEN!!!!!... not EIGHT!...... Wheres my last thousand RPM?!?!! Toyota can suck it.

Nissan ....
Sentra SE-R Auto - Shifts like butter.. so smooth. Nice pickup.... only problem is the 1-2-Drive. Theres no 3....
Sentra SE-R Spec V - I love this car. I want to marry it. I hope the trunk can have my babies. Seriously...... so nice... and the dealer (Baker Jackson Nissan...... Mossy Nissan is out of Spec V's ) is awesome.

Today... i went to Honda. TO visit the s2000...
Pulled up, a scrawny looking Indian guy (looked 18 or 19) got up and asked what i was looking for. I said s2000, civic SI, prelude Vtec.
Preludes.... stopped making em. Civic SI... nope no more. S2000..... only one left and my dad said no haha. It was marked up to $38K!!!!!.... List price is 26000 and marked to 32000! I argued for 32k list pricee for a while.. but dealer was stubborn and said they bought the car for 32k. I said bullsh!t.
I said fine.... show me what you have for civics. He tried to sell me a Civic EX for 26k. 126hp VTEC. I said no...... and started talking about the SpecV for 17K with 175hp. Then he gave me mumbo jumbo about Civic looking like a real sports car.....and people liking civic better...

Moral of the story (If you find this story pretty cr@ppy and junky....) : Honda can suck it... except for non-marked up s2000's.

NISSAN !!!!

My 2 cents....
-Phil

**EDIT: George..... Goodson Honduh sucks.

i use to work for the 3rd largest honda dealership in the nation (showcase honda down in phoenix, arizona)- if you want the hook up for an s2000 (the 2002 comes with a solid glass back window and 4 speakers instead of two) for 32k i can get you through all the bullshit and straight to the finance guys...

lemme know if you're interested.

also-

in the garage we have for sale: a 98 GS300 and a 98 GS400 both with 17 inch rims- lemme know if you're interested in buying one of these guys... just note though that in the pic- the rims have been swapped- so- chrome on blue one- matte finish rims on silver one. they look a lot better that way.

can be found at: http://www.pandapower.com/cars.jpg

thanks guys.

The moral of the story. Always know what you are talking before making a post. Please go double check on S2000's MSRP before making another idiotic comment like this. I can't believe this crap you are saying here.

Don't listen to the dealership bullshit. They sold 9000+ MY2001 S2000 worldwide last year alone.

Back in 2001 when i worked for Showcase Honda (3rd largest dealership in the nation in volume) i DID see a few prices for s2000s that were marked up to 36k... - but the only reason was for dealer profit- they thought that hell- the market is doing so great- i'm going to make a few more Gs on this baby- so they marked it up accordingly...

so- perhaps he saw one of the cars at my old dealership :smoker:

right now- u can get them for 32k easily...

and the actual cost to the dealership is published on the internet- u can find that here: http://www.hondacarprices.com/find_d...2/options.html

to save you the click- invoice is 29,145 bucks and if that's not EXACT- i can tell you that it's not far off from being exact.

oh- one more thing- just for the sake of a laugh- the hardtop that's optional for the s2000 is $3,000 haaaaaaaaaaahahhahahaaaaa

uhh- yeah dood- lemme take three of those since it's so CHEAP!!!!

:licker:

they definitely make a 2002 model... in fact- that baby blue color you speak of is one of the hottest colors for the car. i was thinking the other day about the s2000... very very well engineered vehicle...

for example: ceramic covered door handles (so on hot days- you won't burn your fingers opening the door) // electronic power steering so no power drain on motor // oil pump in the transmission case // in-wheel steering design (designed to ensure compact steering package to fit body design) // timing chain... not belt- (only other honda out there that has a timing chain is the 2002 CR-V) - but i know our G20s have 'em !! woo hoooooo... hehehe... anyways- enough ranting about how great the s2k is... it's 3:50 in the morning and i'm hella tired.

:smoker:

Yeah, I'd like to see anyone get an S2000 under 30k. Those are expensive, but you get what you pay for. And one other thing, Celica GTS are not crappy at all, You can take a Celica GTS and stand a pretty good chance of beating an RSX-S if your a good dirver. Both give 100hp per litre.

no wrx for me, the styling is not good, hate the front headlights.
no sentra for me, the styling is not good either, the tail is really not my taste.
no civic for me, the styling not that great, looks like a walking shoe.
s2000 considering to buy to replace my prelude but i dont particulary like convertibles...
