Rollcage ??

Iam currently building a Honda S2000 and i want to add a Mugen Rollcage but iam having trouble making it. I need some tips on how to make it please. Heres a Pic of what iam trying to go for.

Dang that looks pretty hard...
maybe you can use medium soft wires, bend and solder?

Use parts true or styrene tubing and a lighter or some type of fire heat it until its bendable and bend how you want it then connect it how it is in that pic and glue.

I found that brass wire is a lot easier to work with than styrene for roll cages. It bends well, and when soldered it looks better than glued/puttied piece of plastic. Plus it's very strong once completed.

I built a rollcage for my '93 Cobra model using heated styrene and I thought it was pretty easy to work with.

styrene tubing will do the trick. The hardest part will be to have both size bending the same way.

Solder wire. I think you'll find it more easy to bend the right angle to have both side perfectly adjust.

And where that photo come from ?? Is it a model ? If yes, then just ask the guy... and if it's not a model, I'm not sure I want those harnest mounting... they seem to be attach to a cardboard platform !!!

That can be solved by making a simple pattern so that each side is replicated the same

What I made was a peice of wood with all the angles marked out on it, and I put nails in at certain places along the lines so I had omething to bend against. It works realy well and you get the exact same angle every time. Sorry I dont have pics, but I think in the howto section there is a section on doing rollcages and its a similar design for the tempate. Hope that helps.

Because the tubes appear to be bent, I'd suggest solder. The thicker stuff is quite stiff, yet can be bent pretty easily. Make a jig so that both sides turn out to be the same.

the cheap way,

if you can't get ahold on any styrene tubing is to use the straightest (least stubbly) pieces from the part trees (some trees are skinny enough to look just right). Take the two strips sand the nubs off and press them together. taping them tight at the ends so they bend together. then light it up (a candle is easiest as it's not too strong and allows both your hands free).
Keep the tube not too close to the flame (the distance equal to about the width of your hand from the top of flame should suffice). Let it heat up on you slowly and you'll feel get slightly week. Too long and it will turn into spaghetti so be careful.
Make a bend according to some pattern you hopefully had in mind or made previous.

be ready to practice on scrap pieces, hollow bends different than solid (duh) and have patience

Thats a picture of an actural S2000 with the Mugen Rollcage but i cant seen to find more pictures

I recommend using styrene rods instead of tubings, because the tubings can fold inward creating a kink.
