New project: RX-7 type-R wide body

While i'm finishing my impreza, i started another ambitious project: aoshima RX-7 type-R with a hand-made wide body, inspired from the RE-amemiya gt-??? kit. The wheels are temporary since i'm waiting an order from HLJ.
It's my first complete body kit so i don't know how much time it will take to me !!
Here is what it looks like for now:

Let me know if i waste my time with this or if i must continue !

Looks real cool. Check out chrismcgee's widebody drop top RX7, his is still in progress but looks similar to yours and could be helpful. I say continue this project definetly.

Re: New project: RX-7 type-R wide body

Thanks for the comments guys!
toyotagt1 : i know but today i made some surgery and installed a spoiler from a jgtc skyline which follow the front fenders.

86 sr5 : thanks for the link, i think this one will look more like a matter of touring car with more square fenders.

Oh, and if anybody have an idea for the rear end of the car i'd appreciate because i really don't know wich way to go.
So if you see this thread, post a little feedback or idea please !

I would need to see the new front before I could suggest something in perticular for the back, but maybe something to do with the JGTC front end?

Re: New project: RX-7 type-R wide body

Ok jonno, here is the current status of the model: new spoiler fixed, side skirts beginned, first sanding done (i think i'll use a lot of sadpaper and putty !).

I think i'll have to go with a difuser !

Re: New project: RX-7 type-R wide body

Thanks everyone, but you know, it's not much wider than the original, maybe 1.5mm each side.
And to follow the thread you'll have to be patient since i'm still working on the sub' and i make a party at home for new year, so i'll need all the available place !

Re: New project: RX-7 type-R wide body

As you may have seen, my sub is finished, so i went to work with this one.
The front of the car is almost finished (at least for the shape !!!) and i had an idea for the rear: how about molding the porsche carrera 4 spoiler on it ? So i cut the part (the spare one in the gt3 kit from tamiya) to keep only the air intakes and put it at the rear or the rx7. I'm noy sure it suits the jgtc front but their shape are similar to the turn signals, so...
Well, enough words, here are the pics :

Re: New project: RX-7 type-R wide body

A quick little update : body recieved a coat of primer/filler and the rear bumper was sanded and integrated to the body.

If you have any suggestions for the rear, because i'm not really convinced by what i've done. The color will probably be black.
