hmm, I had 100/110 watt bulbs in my headlights, and my harnesses never melted.

I had Hyper Whites (APC) in my 1995 Civic LX, they melted the harnesses, I went to a junk yard and bought new out of a civic but...my honda dealer sells harnesses that are thicker designed for those bulbs so they wont melt. The guy told me he wouldnt sell me a set of the Hyper White bulbs unless I bought the reinforced harnesses cause its a safety hazard

Although it's fun making your sh*t & you're more aware of the quality, you can always pick up/buy pre-fab wires & harnesses. Those have been out for quite some time... (Don't ask me where to find them... )

My car was able to withstand 2 sets of PIAA Plat's and is currently standing its ground w/ my piddly Hipers... I can't say the same for my passenger-side reverse light. [I've got Raybrig hyperbulbs (no not hyperwhites ) back there.]

Arghh... just get Visions. PIAA's are nice and all but, brightness - bulb life expectancy - cost =

i have projectors and they came with a pretty nice wire harness, but i can't remember what stock harness looks like. i got hyperwhites from procarparts.com and i'm wondering if they will melt shit too... i didn't install them yet because i gotta fix my fender and hood first so they can fit.

turns out the bulbs i used were wrong.. i used H4 bulbs, which are foglight bulbs and draw alot of power, and i should have used a 9006? or something like that. when i finish my new headlight kit, it will not matter

92-00 Civics use 9003's. 9006's are for 90-01 Integra's, 88-91 CRX's and 94-97 Accords for all i know.

Just an observation I've made from seeing what kind of cars people have, where the bulbs have caused harnesses to melt, it seems that '96 and newer Civics can withstand higher wattage bulbs with no problems, I've been using hyperwhites on my '00 Civic, and no problems what so ever with my harnesses, other than just having bulbs die on me. I see most people posting with the melting problem either drive CRX's, 5th gen Civics, or older gen Integras. it is to my understanding however, that stock harnesses is what causes higher wattage bulbs to burn out quickly on our cars. It's due to the higher than normal handling capacity of the stock harnesses, which really only can handle 55w without problems.
