Hard Shifting
I currently own a 99 Malibu 2.4l edition. When I am doing about 30mph the car does the 1-2 shift. If I am pressing the gas making about 3000 rpms the car jerks as the tranny grabs second. What do you guys think the problem could be? I thought it was weird to only be the 1-2 shift.

I have that problem also but my check engine light is on and it is caused by the IAT (intake air tempature sencor) it is like a 12 dollar fix at the dealer. If that is the problem which it was for me.

Correct it was the IAT except is was $94 for me to get it replaced. I didnt know that gasket would change how it shifted.
