S-10 hard 1 - 2 hard shift

I've got a 98 S10 auto 4 cyl. Just came back from the transmission shop. Went in because of an extremely hard 1 -2 shift (more like a slam into 2nd)and a random slipping.
Came back supposedly fixed.
No more slipping, but the 1 - 2 shift is of concern to me.
It doesn't slam into 2nd anymore, but the shift is still mighty firm. So firm that under a moderate acceleration around a corner, the back wheels will chirp. They don't see a problem. What do you experts think?

How many miles on it?
Any codes?
What did the transmission shop say about it and what did they do to fix it?
Does it have any shift kit stuff or engine chips/programers?

No add ons.
Has 130k on it. They took it for a test drive with their reader hooked up and didn't see a problem.

Just driving with a reader hooked up is not a fix.
Takes more than a code reader.
Did it have any transmission or engine codes?
Any check engine lights on?
Engine running good?
Best to find a good repair shop that knows how to test the transnmission out.
A good transmission scanner will give shift data in shift times and shift errow seconds and also slipage.

like I said. The transmission was repaired, but still has hard shift. They did their scan and said it was ok. They are the transmission shop. No lights. Engine runs great.

What was repaired or fixed on it.
If it was fixed you should not have a hard shift.
Something is not adding up right on the repair.
