Just got the new Miura kit and it's very nice! Over 130 parts and engineered much like Fujimi's excellent Porsche 917K kit in that it isn't a full detaill but not a curbside either.
This model depicts the 1971 SV which has widened rear fenders, the IMAI nor ESCI bodies have them. It has plenty of engine bay detail yet it would take a good deal of work to make the engine look fully detailed. The body is one piece so you will have to cut the rear section loose to display the engine. I don't know why they went through all the trouble to make a decent engine bay when you can't see it through the rear window louvers. The body is nicely shaped and will look every bit as good as the one I built out of the IMAI body, the Hasegawa has more potential because the body has more accurate trim details which are separate parts. There is a small sink mark in the roof, nothing critical. The rear louvers and side window louvers are separate parts, this version does not have the head light eye lashes. Chassis has simple engraving but the suspension and interior consisit of many pieces and look accurate to the real car. Tyres and rims are very nice, I'm suspicious that the tyres are not a little too squared off at the edge of the tread, again nothing that will take away from the model. The decals consist of all the emblems in black and gold, plus there are beautiful metal transfers for all emblems etc. Hobby Search pic: ![]()
