trans problem....suprise, suprise

Hey. I have a 98 I4 auto. the transmission shifts very rough between 1st and 2nd. The other shifts are perfect. The trans will "jerk" when going into 2nd. After it warms up it the shifts are a little more smooth but I can still notice that something is not right. when I accelerate faster the shift is smooth but if I start off slow the car will jerk into 2nd. The car will also rattle a bit when i shift from P to D, P to R and D to R, it dosen't shift smooth like it should. I was told that it could be the motor mounts but I wanted another opinion. Anyone have any ideas or had a similar problem...

Hi Jason, I got the same problem too (on my 99 auto). I will know today (hopefully) what it is about...shall update you then.
