F-100 with a 86 255 T-Bird engine and trans HELP Trans Problem

ok so I got a 1986 thunderbird engine and trans in my truck and I wondering if anyone know what the 4 wires are coming off the driver side of the tranny by where the gear lever hooks on.

As of right now the truck will only go in 1st gear while in drive it will not shift out.

are those 4 wires the problem?

if so where and how do I hook them up?

The trucks a 1976 F-100

Thanks
Tim

if it's part of a T-bird drivetrain, you'd be better off asking the guys in the T-bird or non-specific forums.

If the trans is a AOD, the wires you are referring to are the backup light switch and they have nothing to do with it shifting. Might want to try adjusting the TV cable and see if that helps.
