Flocking color

If you can't get flocking material in a certain color, can you just paint over it? Or would I be better off getting a 'close enough' color?

It's some... powder that's used for making carpets in car interiors and such... Don't know more about it though...

But i would like to know where you can get that stupid stuff in germany... can't seem to find it here. Does anybody know what it's called in german?

Flocking (and where to get it):

I THINK they ship international, have to ask them.

How To Apply Flocking:

I ordered some black flocking for my MR2, but I don't know what color to get for my brown interior Trueno. Of the ones listed, I'm leaning toward the cardinal color.

But I was wondering if I could just paint it, since I have a color already that is a perfect match for the interior.

No! you can't just paint it! It makes a goopy mess.
A little difference in color is not a bad thing. If you look at a real car you will notice that while the plastic, cloth and carpet may be exactly the same color they look different.
I almost always use the dark grey instead of black in closed cars, simply because black just dissappears when the interior is assembled.
It's also easer to mix paint to match flocking then flocking to match paint.

And a flocking hint: Flock somewhere away from where you paint your car bodies. If you don't you'll find flock in your paint jobs for quite some time.
