with mods/how quick?

ok plain and simple does anyone have these and ONLY these mods done to their GTP.....3.4 pulley,CAI,180 stat,1 step colder spark plug and resonator removed? What times should i expect to see with not perfect but fair launches with these and only these mods done? Is high 13s out of the question? its an 04 comp g. Ijust dont want to look like a bozo in april at the gtp race at our track. So far the only thing ive done was have the resonator removed. Im gonna be running 15s in a 30k car arent i? Man im gonna look like an idiot. guess i better bring the 69 for back up eh?

Re: with mods/how quick?

I dont think you'll run 15's. Probably more like low 14's.

With those mods on my car i ran 14.2's and 14.1's w/ 2.0 60ft times

With a 3.25 pulley/nitto drags/exhuast cutout and race gas I could run 13.8s all day long.

The computer in the 04's is going to be your biggest problem. We had 3 or 4 of the 04 guys down here for Alamo City Shootout and all were complaining about the pcm's torque management programming.

When DHP releases the PCM's for the 04's I would get one right away. It will probably wake your car up real good.

Re: with mods/how quick?

ok. yeah ive heard all the hype on the 04 dhp pcm. this case learn thing you have to get done at the dealership is freaking me out a bit because someone said that when the dealership does the case learn they often "flash" it and that sends your dhp back to stock. What im worried about is when i tell them not to flash it their gonna know i got a "hypo" pcm right? or wont they wonder what i need a case learn done in the first place for?

Re: with mods/how quick?

Any shop that has a Tech 2 can do a case learn for you.

I would get in touch w/ your local club as they can point you to the right dealership/shop.

If you email Charles or Dave at DHP they will be able to send u the instructions for a CASE learn.

It is a 2 minute job.

In my 2000 GTP with the mods you described plus a 3 inch down pipe and removed ubend, I ran 14.135 @ 98.7 mph, with a 2.15 60 ft. time, which is a fair 60 ft. time. I hear the the traction control is much more severe in the '04 GPs so you might have different results.

Pay attention to your launches, and I would bet you have a chance at low 14's and at worst mid 14's. Take some time and prepare your car for the track too.

I cant wait for the tracks around here to open again, as I am looking forward to breaking 13's as soon as it does, with my 1.9 rockers... Should be a fun year!

Re: with mods/how quick?

I'm thinking low 14 too. Maybe a few mid 14 the first few runs until you get used to launching it.
