Mods - Few Quick Questions

I have a 97' GSX with 104,000 miles. Only mods I have to date is Apex'i N1 Down pipe and N1 Exhaust, greddy uper intercooler pipe w/ type S BOV. Recently I've been having problems with my turbo so I went and got another Garret T25 (stock) used from a friend. (Outta Money!)

My next mod is a used 60mm throttle body from an older talon, and also to put the newer turbo on.
1) After I put the turbo on, is it best to get a MBC (manual boost controller) or work on other engine mods.
2) If you do reccomend the MBC then which company is the best/more efficient for just running 15-16 PSI with no troubles. (I've heard some MBC's are junk, I'd rather get the more expensive one if its better for the car).
3) When I go to put the throttle body on, do I need to get a new intake manifold or is the stock I have fine?
4) Last, Soon I wanna get new lifters or valves or something, and new spark plugs. I heard stock plugs are the better buy - What is your take? AND - How much would it cost to get new lifters or new valves?

THANKS -

Yes, get a MBC. Joe P or similar will do fine. You can even go cheaper as long as it works, like Busta BC from Canada.

stock manifold is fine

NGK BPR6ES or BPR7ES are great. Why do you want new valves/lifters? You won't get any more power from stock ones, and upgraded valves are long in your future.

depending on how much you are willing to spend, electronic ones are great as well, such as the GReddy Profec B-spec II. MBC's are great as well, and the Joe P. is a great buy. you will also want to look into upgrading your fuel pump as well. 190lph is a good start.

you will need to open up the stock mani opening as well to match your 60mm TB

Most of your questions ahve already been answered but here is my take on somwe things. I had a Joe P and it worked great. Best 45 bucks I ever spent. I decided to go with a Profec B becasue I was going to be upgradign turbos and I knew I would be messing with the boost level. I didnt want to have to make a pull, pull over adjust it, go back do it again, then adjust more. You get the point. i havent heard any good things about the spec II profec when I was looking so i went with the reliable profec B and love it.

whats with the valves and lifters question? No need to replace either unless you lifters tick alot.

Michael
