Question 96' Accord - Need detailed info for H22 swap! PLEASE!!!

Guys....

Won't bore you too much... but here's my scenario. My Accords' A/C just went.. leaking from the compressor somewhere. Been wanting to do a H22 swap for awhile now. The car has 130k miles on it. Makes no sense to spend $400-$600 to fix the air when I can pay someone that the labor to install the engine which would include a new A/C system..right!?! I see all these motors they are selling on ebay which I am hesitant about, but some seem like really good deals. I've been reading all of your replies to other posts and gained alot of knowledge in general (year of engines, JDM or USDM, etc.) but what will I REALLY need for the swap to be complete? I notice some people selling packages for like $1300-$1500 but they claim it only has the longblock and ECU, some no ECU, some no distributors and so on and so on. In other words, for example... would I "definetly" need a H22 starter if it didn't come with one, or a power steering pump? Or can I use the one from the F22b? I'm sure I am probably repeating someones' question here... but it seems like there is alot of confusion on what is without a doubt needed in a swap for my particular car. I also read somewhere that mechanics need to know what to set something "tension" or the engine will blow in a couple of months?? I have no idea what I am talking about but I could find it if I had to...what is that all about if you know what I mean?? Thanks guys......

Got some bad news for you. You would have to use the a/c compressor from the f22 with the h22 bracket. Also, I wouldn't recommend buying just the long block or motors without the distributor. You want everything original and intact. You definetely want the ECU as well as the prelude's transmission. You can find the motor + ECU + tranny online for $2600 or less and (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) I belive installation will cost you between $500 and $1000. There's a lot behind this swap that many people don't know here are some links that will help.

Thanks for the info... I knew somebody had to know something. Good links... lotta knowledge there. If the H22 comes with a compressor I wonder why I wouldn't be able to use it?? All that wiring nonsense.. holy s#@! Hope the mechanic I'm bringing it to doesn't have a heart attack! Wish there were more people who actually did the swap and could offer advice as well... but oh well... thanks man
