1999 Accord 4-cyl: Turbo or H22 Swap

I have a 1999 Honda Accord 4-cyl and I was just wandering if i should use a DRAG Turbo Kit or just go ahead and do the engine swap. Thx.

Depends, are you going for more power after that, because the H22 is a stronger engine that responds better to boost and will produce more power if you add other mods. If you plan on doing further mods, I would go the route of the H22, and then turbo it when you get the money.

Yes i definately want more power but im kindof on a tight budget so its either turbo stock engine or stock h22.

Doing the H22 swap would be better in the long run. Especially if you plan to continue to be on a not-so-large budget. The swap will give you some immediate power increases and widen the range of aftermarket parts you can get after your wallet gets fatter again to mod up. Plus, the amount of boost you could safely run on the F23 while expecting to still have a working engine in 5-10 years isnt much.

Keep in mind though, if you want to run a lot of boost on the H22, plan on doing some internal work on it. Those cylinder walls aren't that strong compared to other engines.
