OBD II Accord distributor codes for H22 swap
I have a 97 Accord and I am in the process of putting in a 95 JDM H22A. I came across a problem yesterday. The distributor don't match up. The H22A has two plugs. One with two wires and the other plug with 7 wires. My Accord's distributor harness is one big plug with 5 wires. The H22 has an internal coil and the Accord has an external coil. I was told that I can wire the harness to the distributor. I have the color codes for the H22A but I don't have them for the Accord. Is the anyone out there that can tell me the color codes for the 5 wires on the Accord distributor and what they are for?
If there is anyone that swapped a 92-95 H22A into a 96-97 Accord, how did you overcome the distributor problem.

You will have better luck if you get the OBD 1 ECU (P13) then everything will wire straight in.. The Distributer; we used an MSD and got a MSD Blaster Coil and we took out the internal coil and threw it in the trash.. We then wired the MSD into the Distrubuter per instructions, and then slapped and external coil distributor cap on there.. Now I know I didnt answer you question but you dont have the P13 ECU and thats the only one that I know the wiring for.. I have a 97 Accord as well and just finished my H22 swap a few months ago... I love it, and I guarantee you will too... If you get the P13 let me know as I might be able to help then...

Yeah we did my H22 swap and used the 4th gen accord harness. We had a similar problem. Of course my car is a 1990, so it's a diff generation, but here is what i remember...
The yellow with black and the black are power and ground. Then there is a green wire on the distributor that is the trigger wire. I'm not exactly sure, maybe that helps though...heh..i'll check it out tonight and let you know...my car is at the shop right now. -Matt |
