Rear End Gear Ratio

I'm wondering if there is any way to identify the rear end gear ratio on my 2002 Sierra????

look over on the silverado board...someone just gave this info. the spid codes in glove compartment door list the code. a gu8 is a 3.42. don't know about the others but someone listed and identified them over on that silverado board.

The gear ratios your truck is running will be on the sticker in your glovebox in the form of a number code. All the option and assembly codes of your truck are found on this sticker. The differential code is usually found on the second line of the sticker just to the right of center, but not always.

Look for a code usually beginning with the letter 'G'.

GT4 is for the ratio 3:73 which is standard for the Z71 option. GT5 and GT8 are 4:10. GU6 is 3:42.
