How do I get rid of my antenna? I have a p10, and the antenna just doesn't work all the time, so I can't take my car through car washes. I know this is probably a stupid question, but is there a way I can replace my antenna with a screw in one?:smoker2:

Have you tried replacing the antenna? I had the same problem with mine, and the cable was broke. I found a antenna off of eBay for 30 bucks. It involed unscrewing the base of the old one, pulling it out, putting the new one in, and screwing it back down. (sounds kind of kinky)
Now it goes up and down just fine.

I'd get a new one also, maybe from your dealership or something, should be fairly inexpensive.
Another thing you can probably do is get one of those windshield mounted antenna, it's like a little sticky box that sticks to the inside of your back or front windshield, but of course you'd have to either unplug your old one an leave it all the way down or completely shave it off. I think you maybe able to get those at a Honda dealership because the newer Preludes use those for antennas :flash:

Or, you can try to buy one of those Fuba antennas, the ones that goes on the roof with an angle like the ones seen on the new bimmers. I had those on my old civic before, looks pretty cool

I remember being on holiday about 1 year ago with the wife and we took my car away instead of hers.
Anyway, she went out that afternoon while i stayed in to soak up some sun, when she got back she had told me she had "cleaned the car at the car wash"........it was almost divorse....couldnt beleive how it scratches the crap out of the paint. I was NOT a happy camper

They have these new things out now, they are called brushless car washes. Allthough they are not as good as the tender, hand jobs
that we like to do, they are a quick fix for a dusty car.

Well then you shouldn't be here. This is a forum for car guys, and one of the biggest rules car guys have is that a good car never goes through the car wash. The only cars that are allowed in are the rust buckets that are held together with duct tape and rope, and they don't even deserve a wash.

Well, slap me silly and call me stupid. I hink that is the biggest crock of shit that I have ever read regarding washing your car. When it snows here every other day, why should I spend three hours washing my car when it is going snow again in two days. Yeah, I drive it through a BRUSHLESS car wash to keep the grime off. So I guess I am just a piece of trash, who drives a rust bucket. Oh well. If I come of sounding like a dick, excuse me, but you give no impression of joking in your post. |

Maybe I made it sound too extreme, if you don't give two hoots about your car, like if it's some crappy compact car that cost 1o grand new, by all means take her through twice daily, but I think if you take any pride in your car, it is your duty to wash it by hand. And there is no shame in driving a rust bucket, it just means you can do things other people can't, like park it on snowbanks, and scratch it without giving two hoots. I'll drive a old beater as my first car, and I'll treat it as it deserves.
