EVO 8 vs EVO 8 RS?

I have to ask what is the reviews about the EVO 8 RS, I read that the EVO 8 RS is going to be really stripped down to make it better. I also read that the items that are going to differ from the regular EVO 8 is that the spoiler, power windows, power locks, ABS, AC, radio, and some other stiff to consider weight reduction.
All I have to say is that I rather buy the 2003 version of the EVO 8, hell with the stripped version, I can do the stripping down later, if I am seriious about making the EVO 8 a strictly a track car, but for the streets, I don't think so.

What other information can you give me, I may have read it wrong, so please correct me. Thanks to all who replies to this tread.

Re: EVO 8 vs EVO 8 RS?

The RS is also about $2k cheaper, and has additional stiffening braces.

Even if you add the "Urban Jungle" package and get AC and the radio back, you will still save a lot of weight and money over the regular Evo.

Re: EVO 8 vs EVO 8 RS?

that 150 pounds/ 88 pounds for RSII, imporves the performance a lot. the evo wasn't meant to be some blvd. cruiser anyway, so the RS is actually headed down the right way.

only disadvantage is "lessended stablity at high speeds (+ 100 mph)"

Re: EVO 8 vs EVO 8 RS?

True. The Evo RS actually comes pretty close to matching the STi's straight line speed, without a power increase. Add the regular Evo wing, and you've got a champ!

Re: EVO 8 vs EVO 8 RS?

you can easily gain that 100+ stability with a small, functional wing...
or even the stock evo wing, it's cf, it can't be that heavy...
