Unhappy acronym killerz

No where have I ever come across what GT-R actually stands for. Now I'm not a car crazy person and wot nots but it came up in a debate and so I put it to you motor loverz to shed some light.

The GT part stands for Grand Touring. the R would most likely mean Race spec.
