5.slow

last night i was at a stoplight and this black 90-93 style 5.0 pulled up beside me. It was rolling 3 deep and i was alone. They were acting like assholes and pointing and laughing at the little honda. the light turned and they had me till the 1-2shift wherei caught them and pulled to about a carlength by about 85mph. i hit the flashers and braked so they pulled up next to me screaming about how they were gonna kick my ass and im a pussy and whatnot. I was like whatever and kept driving so they got behind me and rode my ass with their high beams on. ipulled off and they were still following meso i took off again and a car chase ensued. i finally lost them. At least i can say that not all ford owners are as juvenile as them. Some of my best friends drive stangs. Oh i drive a red 99 civic si with 17 in chrome TSW revos, a skunk2 short shifter, hp motorsports header, AEM CAI.

Good kill! I personally am a Camaro owner and therefore I have no choice but to hate everything made by Ford! Be be forewarned, the 5.0, with only basic bolt-on's and a deeper gear, can be a VERY quick car! A guy who posted on the old purehonda by the name of 90Notch could definately attest to this, his 5.0 was known to be toyed with! Good kill reguardless, way to write another POS Ford onto the "Killed" list!

3 of my friends have 5.0's. 2 of them are quick and the other one is kinda slow for some reason. I never raced a 5.0, and don't plan on it until I can get my swap and some other goodies.

The early 90's mustangs can be pretty quick. But once they get around 90,000-100,000 miles they start to tire out, especially if they have been beat on. Good kill.

Nice one! I remember the time I whooped a 91 5.0 with my 94 Accord 5spd.

I guess I should mention that the engine on that Stang was shot to hell, but that's not really pertinent to the race.

Yeah, I beat a mustang 4cyl. and a 6cyl. It wasn't much of a race with either of them. Not saying that I am fast, but geez they are slow. There is this supercharged V6 stang around here though. That thing is pretty quick.

A supercharged anything will tend to be pretty quick.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Still interesting how someone would choose to supercharge the v6

one: sleeper effect.

two: 94-95 were the last year of the last bodystyle that had a 5.0 all the rest had the 4.6. and that 4.6 was a slug starting at 215hp in 1996.

three: ever seen the cost on parts for the 4.6? you think Honda aftermarket parts are expensive...
