96 starting problems related to remote lock?
Hello,
A friend of mine has a 1996 Taurus (all I know) and she said that when she tried to start the ignition, nothing happened. The lights will work and the dashboard lights up, but it won't start. The car has powerlocks and uses one of the remote deals. It only has lock and unlock buttons, nothing else. The car was working fine apparently until when she tried to use the remote to unlock. It didn't work and she thinks this might be the reason why the car won't start. Is this thing some sort of a kill switch that won't allow the car to start unless it works. Here's the thing though, she got a new battery for the remote (12v) and tried again, but it still was a no go. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. |
