P0300 In a 420a, Starting Problem, Related?

Im getting a P0300 in my 96 GS. ussually happens at stoplights or toll booths allthough at times it has happened when accelerating at highway speeds. If I shift into neutral and let the RPMs drop then begin to accelerate again it seems to clear up for the time being. I have reset the CEL and viewed the freeze frame data from the ECM but nothing has jumped out at me. Before I go and spend money on plugs and wires or coils does anyone know anything that is common in these. I've heard that these had a tendancy to rub a wire and short it out or else a bad crank/cam position sensor may be the prob. I dont want to go through these "maybe's" or "I heard's", I have a college degree and if I wanted to trace wires and test sensors i would, Im wondering if anyone has had this problem first hand and can offer some real advice before i go tear into it. Thanks

Also having a problem dont know if it is related. When i go to start my car I may have to hold the key in the start position for 10 seconds like it is requiring high amperage, then it will crank normally and start up onthe 2nd crank, but has yet to burn the solenoid out like a high amperage situation would. Figured dead spot in the starter, so i replaced it and still does the same thing, possibly related?

Thats the random misfire/multiple cylinder code. I used to get that but replaced my plugs/wires and it was all good. If you havent replaced yours yet I would check out doing that. I doubt its the cam angle sensor. But your right sometimes an old wire can ground itself and cause a short and misfire your cylinder. The taking 10 secs to start doesn't sound related but it could be...

So let's say you're driving going 40 in 3rd at 3,000RPMs for a little while and then CEL comes on. But if you shift to fourth and drive going 40 then it will turn off. Same thing?

Well thats kind of hard to try being that its a auto, but it seems that i would have to say no. It does it about 50% of the time when leaving a stop (red light, tollbooth etc) and sometimes on hard accelleration (highway accel requiring a downshift). Also when at a stop you can "test" it to see how it is going to behave. if you powerbrake it to spin up the torque converter it will do one of two things 1)spin up normal and then when you take off it drives fine 2) even while sitting and power braking this causes a horrible misfire, you then have to shift into neutral and back into gear a few times before it will clear up(when is neutral it will rev up wihtout any misfire, the problem is only in gear). Im not great with transmissions to be honest i hate them, but this sounds like possibly a TCC issue to me.
