Unhappy Need help with Amplifier, Capacitor, & Battery connection

Hi all,
I really need help to correctly & safely connect the capacitor to the battery and the amplifier. I followed the instruction came with the cap., fully charged the cap. with the bulb (the battery's neg. terminal is currently disconnected, cap's neg. terminal is grounded). As soon as I removed the bulb/resistor, the cap's power level is decreasing before I have a chance to connect the battery's neg. ternminal. Any help from anyone how to safely connect the capacitor to the battery and amplifier without any explosion are greatly appreciated. Does the capacitor have to be fully charged (with the power remain) when bulb/resistor removed?I'm new to car audio and desperately need help. Thank you very much guys.
:=)

I'd say let the power go down, hook everything up the way you had it, then pour the music. Your cap should start getting power to itand the volts should either level off, or they should increase, depending on music loudness etc. It's either this of your cap is junk, what kind is it and how many farad?

Thanks GCguy2169,
The name for the Cap is VOODOO, and it's 1.2 Farad. I bought it on Ebay and it looks very professional. The 4 ring terminal that came with it are huge and platinum plated. I think it drained through the amp, but I will try to install the way you suggested. The installer at BestBuy said that with a 1600 Max Watts Amp, I might not need a Cap, and he was right. While waiting for help at AF, I tried to install without the Cap and the "Bass Mekanic" cd sounds beautiful. Ground location is where the BestBuy installer initially grounded my audio stuffs. Thanks alot for your help man. Have a nice day.
