Re: cant figure out why speakers not playing

well first check the deck

is it aftermarket? if so go to the back and see if the wires are connected....

if its not then it may be the deck itself. if its a stock one they have a problem where sound turns off all the time, its due to the deck...i had this problem and replaced it with an aftermarket one and it was fine.

use a multimeter to trace the speaker wires and to test the speakers.

Do this and check the Ohms of the speaker ( You can do this at the main harness for the head unit ) it should be 8-4 Ohms if it reads 0 then you would have a direct short which could cause your head unit to burn an output and the speaker would not work. If they all read 8-4 Ohms then I would suggest a new head unit. I know with my Accord when I replaced the speakers the rear 2 had lost all foam surround and made an awful fluttering noise. To test the head unit take your good speaker and put it to each of the four contacts from the head unit if the speaker works at each four points then your head unit is fine and you need new speakers. Good Luck DOOD
