Question V8 Motor ?

In the 1988-1993 Chevy C/K Series trucks Did any of them come equiped with V8 Roller Motors 5.0, 5.7, or 7.4?
And How could I find out if mine is?

Thanks for any info,
James

Re: V8 Motor ?

Check the 8th digit on your vin. I dont think any of them were roller cams, If you have a 350 the 8th digit will be a "K"

The only difference I know of in those years is you could have a 350ci in a 2 bolt main or a 4 bolt main block. If you truck is a 4X4 or 3/4 ton it probably has the 4 bolt main, most others had a 2 bolt.

As for roller motors, trucks used them starting in 1996 with the "vortec" motors.

only the V6 was roller those years, but the v8 blocks were roller capable, easy switch if need be.
