Where to find Crate Motor/Rebuilt Motor
Earlier i was thinking about installing a RB20DET into my Z31 Turbo but i have decided against that and i was thinking that i would rather just replace the motor with the original VG30ET, does anybody know where i can find a Crate/Rebuilt VG30ET and also where to find a good Transmission. I don't want to rebuild the motor in my car unless i have to, i would rather put a certified rebuilt motor in it, maybe one from nissan. I have looked on a Nissan Parts website but they only have the non turbo motor. Any advice? Thanks for the help

Or how much would a rebuild of the motor i already have cost, i would rather go with a certified replacement motor but if that isn't possible i would be forced to rebuild the motor that is in the Z now

Im guessing around $2000-$3000 to get your engine rebuilt. If you're looking to do some performance mods to it then buy internals and get a rebuilt turbo then take it to a place and have them rebuild it with the parts. It will save you money down the road. I doubt you'll find a place that has certified VG30ET's. The engine is just too old for places to carry them anymore.

Yeah i am looking to do some mods, i have around 6000-6500 to spend on the car but not all is going to be mods, some will be restoration, but i would like to get a good set of wheels, rebuilt motor, boost controller, exhaust, intake, turbo timer, blowoff, i would also like to put a new tranny in there because it has had the same Transmission its whole life, all 165,000 miles, any good ideas about Trans ??

For the trans, just take it someplace and get it rebuilt. You can't find a "new" transmission, all of them you'd find will just be rebuilt transmissions.
