TheftLock help for GM cd player

my friend had a 2001 grand am but recently got into an accident and hes gonna need a new car, now hes gonna give me his monsoon cd player that was in the car. now he has theftlock activated but doesnt know his code. i saw the post on a site that gave info about how to change the code pressing 2 buttons then calling a number or whatever and getting a new code to enter. if you know about this, will that work with this cd player and get it to be unlocked or able to change the password? email me at [email protected] or reply. oh, and what is the oldest grand am and grand prix the monsoon will work for? a pick of the one i have is here: http://i7.ebayimg.com/02/i/01/20/01/c6_1_s.JPG. thanx a bunch.

Go to a gm dealership and give them the serial number from the car the sterio is from , bring the owner of the car to ask for the code , you are entitled to this info if you own the car and its free otherwise they will nail you a 30 dollar code search fee.

Thanx, just got off phone w/dealership (NOT that I want to deal w/them ever again) and they said they'll put it in, but they WON"T give me the code...WHY? That means EVERY time I have the car worked on I have to go to the dealership....
