Re: LSD. how much can it help on my time?
If you're simply interested in getting lower quarter mile ET's, you might check with a local transmission repair shop and ask them how much they want for shimming your OE differential (don't expect a warranty). A buddy of mine had this done to his Civic, essentially converting it to posi-traction. This is the cheap and dirty method.
For those of us who like to go fast AND turn the wheel, I would suggest a clutch-type limited slip differential as opposed to the gear operated [Torsen] style. Marco Passante of Magnus Motorsports wrote an entertaining article in favor of the clutch type. You might want to take a peek at it. I know this doesn't answer your question, but maybe it'll help you decide when it comes time to buy.

Re: LSD. how much can it help on my time?
I was thinking about going with the B&M LSD or perhaps the shimming of OE differentials (must research this more first). But if intelligence27 or anyone including myself goes with one of these options, it would make a good write up for a post. Just to educate future dsmers
