what model???

I'm new on this forum, and i just bought a new 2003 xterra, and i was just wondering how do i know what model my xterra is: a SE or XE? Its a V-6 180 Hp 4x4 if that helps. I looked on my information packets but i don't see any information about the model. Sorry for the silly question, but thanks for the patience.

If you've got a sunroof it's a SE.

Re: what model???

Cripes you bought a new vehicle and don't even know what trim level it is?

If it's an SE, it will have an SE badge on the rear hatch by the "Xterra" badge. Duh.
It will also have darker wheels, step rails, and roof rack than an XE.

Go to nissanusa.com, all the details/differences are there. Duh.

Re: what model???

yeah i know...kinda of silly, but i did ask, and i just forgot. there is no SE badge, and no sunroof. It got sidesteps, roofrack, 4 spoke wheels, ans its a V-6 4x4. So im assuming its a XE???

Re: what model???

Is it really so hard to read the spec at Nissan's site and compare to yours?

Aw Brent, be nice! If it is a brand new vehicle and your dealer did their job, the trim package should be listed on the window sticker they left in your glove box. The SE is a fully equipped X with a slightly different interior trim package and is basically an XE 3 pack with a sunroof that is worthless as t$%$ on a boar hog!

Now if you want the off-road package, you can spend an additional $5,000 and you will get on-board air, dual lockers, winch and winch bumper, rear spare tire carrier bumper, cross-drilled rotors and stainless steel brake lines. An additional $5,000 will get you a 3" lift, Bilstein shocks, new steering fix, manual hubs and 32" tires that don't tear things up!

BTW, I am just kidding. Many of us have spent a great deal of money making our trucks off-roadable. It has been a long uphill battle for us and the new folks stand to benefit greatly from our school of hard knocks. Enjoy your X. You will be surprised what you can do with it if it is set up right.

Actually you guys, starting with the '03's the sunroof became an option on the SE's too (and I should add that I actually like my sunroof). However, there are still other obvious differences like the SE has a leather steering wheel, titanium look gauges, charcoal (instead of silver) wheels, steps, rack, and silver (instead of dark) trim around the funny headlights. I believe the SE also has steering wheel stereo controls and some other things I can't remember. Anyhow, the SE badge on the back is the easiest way to tell if you're totally clueless otherwise.

ChuckH,

Interesting. Both Brent and I have 2000s, so none of that was available except the leather wrapped wheel. As for the sunroof, I would like mine a lot better if they made it narrow enough to come out easily. I have mine set up where it comes out, but it is a bit of work trying to get it between the two uprights on the rack.
