Unhappy Knock, Knock, who's there?

I just finished doing a tranny swap, and took it out for a run. Got her up to 95 and was heading back home. I had noticed a small ticking noise earlier, but didnt think much of it. Rounding a corner, i felt it all go. I think it lost a cylinder or two of power, any suggestions?
As well, after getting up to operating temp, it will stall. It will start, but will die again when shifted into drive. Can anyone tell me what in the world is going on? Greatly appreciated, boris.

Sounds like the TCC solenoid in the tranny, pull the plug on it and see if that works.
