Help wit RB engine?

Does anyone have information about a NEO RB25 non tubo? i have seen one for sale and just want to know more about it. anything along the lines of is there a aftermarket turbo, where would i get performance part for it, etc.
also would you happend to know which car it came from along with HP and Torque ratings on it. Is it a more difficult swap than a normal RB25det as my uncle who is going to do my car has already done a couple of those for my cousins.

thnx

I think the RB25DE came on the non turbo Skylines... I'm sure there's a turbo kt, or at least a way to make a custom kit.

ok
i could get the NEO RB25DE for 2600$US with under 30k miles, i am just asking now would it be worth getting it over the RB20DET. What would the major differences in installion be if any?

please give me an opinion and not just the BS answer its up to you.
i have been told that it would be kinda pricey to get the Neo to somewhere between 300 and 400hp and was wondering if you guys could give me a price range to get the rb20det to between 300 and 400 hp.

To get the RB20 well into the 300s is not difficult. You would need

a nice free flowing exhaust
injectors
front mount intercooler
bigger turbo/increase stock boost
ECU

Re: Help wit RB engine?

Haha You Guys Know Absolutely Nothing About Rbs.....

The Neo Rb25 Is Rated At 200hp Na AND 280HP TURBO (ORIGINAL POST WAS WRONG AS MATADA POINTED OUT).
The Rb25 And 20 Exhaust Manifolds All Bolt Up To This Engine, So All You Need Is A Turbo Kit From One Of Those. The Rb25de Puts Out 10hp Less Than The Rb20det, So Even Thats Worth It. To Get The Neo Rb25 Into The 300 Range All You Would Need Is Cams, Or Use A Stock Rb20 Turbo Setup.

hahahahah your an idiot.
the rb25de neo puts out 200hp at 6000rpm and 26kg/m torque at 4000 rpm. You can't just put a turbine on the NA because it is a higher compression engine. There are other modifications you have to do in order to add the turbine.

The best bet is to go with an engine that is already turbocharged. This way you know it is the correct configuration. You are doing a swap anyways, so why screw it up.

Oh, and smurfboy, I never talk shit without backing it up, so here ya go:

This is from Nissan's official page. Do some research before you spout.

Re: Help wit RB engine?

I'm Sorry Your Right, I Didn't See That I Was Looking At The Rb25det Neo Not The Na...... This Is My Fault.

When It Comes To Turboing The Rb25de, There Are Two Guys That I Personaly Know That Are Running 14psi On Their 10.5 To 1 Compression Engines, And Have Been For Over 6 Months. They Upgraded The Injectors And Did Quite Abit Of Tuning But It Is Reliable And Powerful.

Once Again I Was Wrong On The Specs For The Non-turbo Neo, It Is 200 Hp And The Turbo Is 280 Hp.

Re: Help wit RB engine?

just buy an RB25DET, its a one and done job with plenty of horsepower and easy to get way more out of, plus they can be found for just a bit more than 2,600(which is a rip for the NA if you ask me)

Re: Help wit RB engine?

Sorry for the sarcastic tone of my previous mail. I believe I could have handled it much better. I really shouldn't get on here after a few beers, as I seem to turn into an ass.

Its Ok Because I Was At Fault. I Should Have Read My Fsm Closer, But My Lack Of The Ability To Line Up Colums At 6:30am Made Me Look Like An Ass At Something I Know Quite Abit About. Ohh Well, You Were Right And I Don't Want To Misinform Anyone So I Changed It.

is $1000US a good price for a rb20det front clip that includes everything except a tranny which i can get for around $300?

and it has 68000 miles on it. do you guys think that it is a decent engine for the price or should i just keep looking around for another engine

Re: Help wit RB engine?

as long as your sure everything on the engine and tranny work, and they match up perfect and all that, then yes I'd say its a very good price at $1300 total
