#073

Hi!
I'm a new member here, and I find these discussion about this wonderful car very interesting.

Now to my question. I live in sweden, and I have so far seen two Mclaren F1:s. I have pictures of them both at
link removed
But I have seen in this forum that the green one is #073. Is this correct? Is that the same car that had 391 HP and was recently sold on christies?

We discovered later that our suspicion of Meissner's Green F1 being #073 was incorrect and that it is more than likely #051 instead. It is now for sale and the showroom that is listing it has it labeled as a 1996 model which makes it quite possible that #051 is the correct chassis number assuming it isn't a refit.

Also the car sold at Christies recently (the real #073) was rated at 691hp, but I assume that was a typing error.

Thanks for the new pics of the green one. Your other photos with the file name "Bilmassa" are not working for me as well as the last photo on the list "Mclaren F1 falg". If you could fix them I'd really appreciate it.

Fixed. There were some swedish characters in the non-working images names.

I thought that might be the problem - thanks for clearing it up.

In case you weren't aware, the Orange GTR is #11R and is owned by the same guy. Most people confuse it with an LM because of the color. Please correct them when necessary.

Re: #073

Yeh, I read that in a previous post. Anybody knows who this guy is and where in sweden he lives? The GTR is at a auto show and the gren one (horrible green marble-like gear-stick btw) is at a race event, both times together with his other cars (MB CLK-BTR, Bugatti EB 220, Porsche 911 GT1) and thanks to the magazine "Auto motor & sport".
As trivia I can tell you that at the event where I saw #51 they had drivers that let people ride along in all of the cars (all mentioned above + all Porsches like the GT2, Koenigsegg CC). The Mercedes CLK-GTR broke down. Some fluid ran from underneath and there was no more driving with that one anymore that day.

Re: #073

Anund, the clutch slave cylinder takes a lot of abuse in those cars, and if the rubber seals go, then the clutch fluid leaks out and you are pretty much done for the day. It's quite common on cars that are transmitting so much power, and the resulting high temperatures in their gearboxes also don't help matters much.

Depending on where the slave cylinder is located, it's either a two hour job, or a ten hour job. Guess how I know.
