#073 Engine Spec

I was just wondering if anyone had any more info. on the engine of this car. It is stated at 691 HP. But in another thread it is said that the factory claimed this car does not have LM-Spec CAMS. Even realizing the software updates possible, and separate exhaust possibly, how did it achieve the extra 64 horsepower and 61 lb-ft of torque. Just would be interesting to find out what the engine really has had done to it.

In a post by Mr. Selldorff he states that he was told by McLaren the car only had the software upgrade done to it. Not the cams from the LM engine, as those upgrades weren't available anymore due to resources, and were only available for a limited time. This is why I was asking. Could it be the sport exhaust and larger radiators that allow the car to cool more sufficiently while the exhaust would let up the backpressure from the engine.? Not that important really, just interested and would like any more info. you all can provide.

Re: Re: #073 Engine Spec

mr selldorff inquired for an lm engine for one of his cars, he wasn't asking for 073. he was just referring to it.

Re: #073 Engine Spec

Posted by mr. selldorff-I was on the phone during the auction and was prepared to bid if the car went too cheap. I think it was a bargain, but not so low that i could justify adding a fourth. also, i learned the engine was not completely LM spec, just a software upgrade (no cams..etc.) so it wouldn't be the same. plus the color (and wheels) look like crap in my opinion.

That's only about a 10% improvement which I suspect is possible without those cams. I don't think the exact information you are looking for is floating around anywhere, but I too would like to know.
