93 Ranger XLT not starting... help!
Ok. 1993 Ranger XLT. Went to start it and heard a loud click. Ive changed the relay switch and the starter (came with new solenoid.) Still same old same old loud click when im trying to start it. Battery cables are pretty corroded. Im working on changing those right now. But any information would really help me out big time. Appreciate the time to look at this post!

Check the battery, I've had the same problem with one of my viechles, your gonna want to change your battery cables, and get your battery tested to see if it's still holding a COMPLETE charge. getting the battery tested is cheap enough, and any garage can do it.

Wheres the "click" coming from? Have an extra pair of hands try to crank it while you listen to where its coming from. Could be the starter hanging up. Most places will check it for you on a bench tester, but remember its not in a load condition on a bench. It may work fine on the bench, but in the vehicle is a different story. Sounds like the starter may be worn and getting bound up on the flywheel. But isolate the noise before pulling anything apart.

If you have a new starter, it could be the flywheel, have u tried to jump it? Auto zone checks batteries.
