Beat a Vette with my civic a few nights ago

Driving around with 2 of my buddys, I got my 95 Civic Ex with B18B1 (Headers, CAI, basic stuff - exhaust, plugs,wires...) anyways my car is gutted and no PS or AC.

There is a corvette infront of me, late 80's or maybe early 90's style he pulls into a parking lot, and me being me i give it a big rev and drive on I noticed there were a couple of teenagers in it. Next thing i know i got a car on my ass and one of my buddys noticed it was the vette so of course i drop a gear and get it up to about 100 or so, he followed.
We pull into the mcdonolds and they pull up on the side of me, they ask right away what it has in it, I of course say its all stock. the kid then says bull shit i could bearly keep up to you. I noticed then he put it in park so it was a automatic. Now I have a extra person in my car and a full tank of gas, my friend in the passanger seat is paralized from the waste down so it takes him forever to get out because we have to assemble the wheel chair. so i would had to race with everyone and a wheelchair and full tank of gas (yea yea yea i usally race on E) I tell the kid that its all stock again and asked him if he wants to race. we drive off, you could tell he got on it so I nailed it and i was on his ass and i think i could of passed him but didnt want to take the chance.
we pull onto a highway and it was about 11:00pm so the highway we were on was very dead. 3rd beep we go with my friend beeping for us in my car. we take off and i just kept pulling on him, i got probably 1 and a half or 2 car lengths on him.
We go back to the mcdonolds and he asks me again what I have in it, he was figuring nitrous and such (I do have nitrous but didnt have my bottle with me) of course since i dont want everyone to know what i have i told him it was all stock with a few small bolt ons, he pulled out and spun it around a few times for us to watch and what do you know a cop pulles him over lol oh well.

Always even though it was automatic it was still a corvette with twice the cylinders as me. My car is not fast but she is quick and beating a corvette i dont think i could get any happier I wish i had my video camera with me.

Sounds fishy but if it's an auto, it shifts 1250rpm's before redline, so its a little faster then a new V-6 stang. It can be beaten very easy though. Nice kill but the way you told the story makes it sound like b/s, but I beleive you.

You may have beat the driver, not the car.

maybe he just cant drive, but what do those things run in the 1/4 stock anyway? i asked someone and they said 14's with a automatic that style. I ran 15.3 at the track at 92mph with a 60' of 2.6 my first time there and i deffinitally got a better launch then i did at the track. I think i am just about 15 flat now also i dont have bald tires anymore. oh well it was still a corvette.... even though when we were just going down the road i was with him and is it possible to beat the driver in a stright line already going from like a 40mph roll, all he has to do is put it in D and hit the gas.

I forget what my 1/8 is but it was in the 9's ill try to find my slips. unless it pickes up alot in the top end then thats about what i run anyway, different car it could of been a 86 with the earlier TPI instead of the newer style.

He cant drive, thats bullshit!!!
Its a freaking automatic how can you not know how to drive...he beat the car, not the automatic!! I hate those "He cant drive" comments, its not hard driving a manual from a roll, even less an automatic.

Even worse, it could of been a '84 with Cross-Fire Injection... err I mean Cease-Fire Injection. Cause it sucked...

Year later in '85 they went to TPI (Tuned Port Injection) and started making power... stock the TPI Vette's could do 150mph... when new.

it was the TPI i asked him that i didnt ask him what year it was. when my motor was in my integra i had it to 150 (picture on my cardomain site) now it is in alot lighter car, and its gutted. we only raced up to like 120 (well thats when i let off)

if you guys dont belive me find someone that has one and race it, obviosly if it was a LT1 vette or something it would of spanked me but it wasnt that quick

I smoked a 03 Si tonight tonight by like 5 or so car lengths it had intake, exhaust that thing was slow.

Cheak out my car http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/334442/1
its not anything special but it moves good for a 4 cyl

I can kinda believe him beating a C4. A lot of them have been driven into the ground and aren't running properly.

I believe the corvette story over this one.. I don't think a 140hp LS engine in a Civic can beat an Si with 160-175hp (depending on his mods), even though they are a little heavy. The newer Si's actually have some torque too, being 2.0's. Sure you guys didn't just gun it around and you beat him through traffic or something?
