heads
hi... I would appreciate anyone letting me know if the newer headlights like on the 2003 will fit the 2000-02 models... I have a 2001 LS Sport
The new headlights have clearer corners, which I like. I have till tomorrow to decide... please let me know specifically! Thanks |

Re: heads
Want clear corners? Do what I did, because the new lamps are very expensive, and have to be modified to fit into the pre 03 bodies.
I removed my headlamps, and put them in my mommy's oven at about 200F, for about 10 minutes. The clips on the bottom are popped off, and I seperated the plastic lense from the grey body with 2 flat screwdrivers. The orange piece of plastic just pops out of the grey frame, and that's all there is to making a clear corner on the LS. I used a bead of silicone when I resealed the lights, because they leaked anyways before they were seperated. An amber bulb was used, and the effect is awesome at night - a projected orange beam of light. Side view, ![]() Front view with lights on: ![]() Front with lights off: ![]() Let me know if and how you make out, OK? Enjoy, Kevin.

Re: heads
If your current headlights have gray sealant, the above method will work. If they have black sealant, don't bother. The black is silicone and won't melt until about 600*F...well after the polycarbonate lens is a puddle.
