B16 turbo
I have a B16a engine that I bought from JDM. I was wondering what the best kind of turbo to buy for it. DDo I have to do anything to the engine to not destroy the motor if I put the turbo on it? What all do I need to do? Thanks a lot

Re: B16 turbo
I don't know everything about turbos, so you'll want a second opinion, but; Turbonetics, Greddy, ApexI, and Blitz all have excellent turbos. The best turbo to buy is all up to how much power you want and how much turbo lag you're willing to endure. Smaller turbos, such as a T3, will give you a decent boost and you won't have much turbo lag. Larger turbos, such as a T24 or T66, will give you massive power gains but horrible turbo lag. For a street car/daily driver, I'd go with a T3/T4 hybrid. you'll get the larger compression of a T4 with the shorter spool-up time of a T3. As far as motor health goes, there's several things you should do. I'd start with rebuilding the motor and putting in forged internals, while you're at it, you might as well bore it out to a 1.8. Make sure your intercooler is the proper size and front mounted. Get a turbo timer and set it to 1-2 minutes. Keep an eye on your boost, vac/pressure, and oil temperature. You probably don't want your boost set higher than 8 or 10psi. If you don't forge your internals, you probably don't want your boost higher than 6psi. That should take care of you
