Question d16turbo to B16 turbo

ok..can this work...im sure it can...but has anyone here done it?....ok...i have a turbo d16...with a greddy turbo/intercooler kit...very nice..yes...BUT...ive been having swap fever too...ive been looking at the jdm SIR b16 with 170hp...i know the turbo manifold won't fit..but if i get a custom manifold to fit it..would everything else work fine?...any kinda troubles i might run in too?....ANY info would be great...im thinking this could be good numbers...also..how much boost would be safe...10psi most?..thanks

I am not sure if you are aware, but the turbo that comes with the D16 kit is smaller than the kits available for the B-series. Also, the engine management won't work with the B-series motor...you'ld need to find another way to get fuel enrichment. You'ld probably be better off selling the existing kit on e-bay and buying a used kit for the B-series should you decide to do the swap.

That's what I'm going to do (except the FPR). I'm running 14 flat right now at 8psi. There's a guy on the Turbo D16 forum (http://turbod16.no-ip.com/) that runs 15psi on stock internals with a 2mm Greddy head gasket and has bested a 12.7 in his CRX. Nice.

i think im just gonna keep it how it is and just get some forged pistons and rods and turn up the boost with my upgraded fuel system...i'm hoping to run 13's...maybe high 12's..but i may be dreaming...with the upgraded pistons and rods i might go 13-15 pounds dailly

If you can run 13-15psi, you'll have no problems hitting 13's in full trim. Shit, I'm only 1/10th of a second away and I ran that at 8psi. I hope you do it, I love seeing people build up these little motors cause they can SCREAM!

As long as you have a good clutch/LSD/slicks you'll be set. But then you'll also have one more thing to worry about,...axles breaking.

I agree, but I've found the fix for that:
