Question can gear cover!?

what are the cons of having the cover for the cam gear off!? would water getting into it mess anything up!? thanx

nothing, really... neither of my cars have their cam gear covers on.

I have notice one bad thing about the cover being off is that the belt tends to slip a little, but other wise its ok.

This on my friends accord lx.

Thanx I mean that it comes off the t gear a lil sometimes but usually when i check his car i would push it back in with my hands so nothing to really worry about..

My cover is off. I haven't had a problem. As a matter of fact if there were to be a problem I would be able to tell. You know if it's cracking or if it's slipping. This way when mechanics offer to replace it at those regular intervals for a fee I can have them look right at it, and determine the need on the spot. Instead of purchasing the part and never knowing if it really needed replacement.
