Can headlight lens be cleaned?

I'm having to replace my passenger side headlight due to a deer that was too slow to get out of the way (may he rest in peace). My drivers side headlight is a little foggy/yellowed. Can they be cleaned? The reason I ask is that I was thinking about getting another assembly off of eBay ($40 shipped), but then ran across http://www.mdwholesale.com/.
Has anyone here heard of if?

Can't say that I have.
I read this but have yet to try it.
9. Headlight problems
In sunny climates, plastic headlight lenses get cloudy over time. On some vehicles, you would have to replace the whole light fixture at $200 or more per light to see again. Instead, pick up Blue Magic Plastic and Fiberglass Cleaner for $4.99. Two easy applications and your car's cataracts are gone. @ Autozone

Bought off e-bay complete headlight assembly with bulbs for 69.00 pair. Company was eagle eye. I don't remember the vendor but look around was well worth it.

Re: Can headlight covers be cleaned?

They can easily be cleaned with plastic cleaner and polish (Maguier's for example), or with MILD rubbing compound.

How difficult are headlight assemblies to install on a 98 CV?
Is there someplace that has a step by step diagram?
Thanks.

3 snap clips was all it took to replace mine. Had to do the old garage door head light alignment trick. I did preset the clips first by measureing the old ones first. Took all total about 1 hour.

Re: Can headlight covers be cleaned?

on my 94 cv i used a dremel to polish the headlights... turned out like new!

just gotta be careful to not turn up the rpm's too much to melt the plastic.

i have also used cleaner wax to clean the haze off... then i waxed it when done. worked well, but when driving in 'dusty' weather you could see some particles embedded in the wax. easy to fix though, just clean it and rewax.

Re: Re: Can headlight covers be cleaned?

Amen on the Blue Magic. Use it on all the cars to get rid of the haze and then use it several times a year to keep them looking like new. Out here in CA the sun really raises heck with plastics and the Ol' Blue Magic works every time.
