new security for 2002 maxima headlights
does anyone know or hear about new security feature for 2002 maxima headlights?? our headlights got stolen 2 times when we put to the repair shop they told us about this new headlights' security feature; will be brackets behind both lights, serial # protected, and sticker on the window.
Will brackets are harder to take lights off; sticker shows the headlights are serialized and cannot re-sell. but all of these cannot convince me, no one is going to look for the small sticker on the window in short spam of time; and they will damage the car before they get to the bracket; damage is less but it's done. i'm considering replacing 2001 headlights but it definitely de-appraised our car but it's the only choice to stop the expenses and insurance might not drop us. |

Re: new security for 2002 maxima headlights
i had it done. nissan's offering it for free so there's no reason not to do it. there's a sticker on both front windows that reads"data dot protected" which no one's gonna really know what that means cuz there is no reference to the headlights. then the same sticker is on the headlights in the corner. i didn't notice it for the first week until i washed my car when i was doing the front of my car, so it's in an inconspicuous spot. they put a serial number based on your vin number on the headlights so if your lights get stolen and someone gets caught with them, you can prosecute. they also put metal bracket where the headlights mount so they can't be twisted off til the snap like the plastic ones can. i never had mine stolen but i got a letter from the dealership offering this deal so i took advantage of it. they had the car for like 2 hours and didn't charge a cent.
